The Best Things To Do In The Cotswolds In July

Holidays in July bring together summer days on the lake and afternoons spent exploring the joys of the Cotswolds. From the worlds largest military air show to some spectacular sights of lavender as far as the eye can see. Choose a couple of our favourites below and head out for a fun day whilst away on your Cotswold short break.

Royal International Air Tattoo Cotswolds

Royal International Air Tattoo

If the winds in the right direction you can be lucky enough to see flybys from the luxury of your lakeside hot tub. But nothing beats getting up close to the planes and pilots on the ground and standing in awe of the worlds best aerobatic display teams above. From fast jets and giant transporters to helicopters and historic aircraft there is nonstop entertainment. There is free parking and kids under 16 go free with an adult. Making this a really good value family day out.

Cheltenham Everyman Theatre Cotswolds

Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham

There is always something great on at the Everyman Theatre, whatever time of year you’re on holiday. This July we are looking forward to the Sound of Music production. A great choice for family holidays or if you just love hearing the classics from one of the greatest musicals of all time. On your way up to Cheltenham there are many Cotswold villages and towns en route which can easily make a day trip out of it. Cheltenham has lots of top restaurants too, from a Michelin star experience to hip new openings.

Cotswold Outdoor Show Place To Stay

The Cotswold Show and Food Festival

One of the biggest events on the Cotswold calendar. This jam-packed weekend includes an array of country performances in the main arena as well as activities and country pursuits for all ages. Peruse the best handmade crafts and enjoy a huge choice of food and drink. In the nearby Cirencester Park this event is right on your doorstep although do leave a bit of time to get there as the roads do get busy. Why not take some of our bikes and cycle the few miles instead! Tickets are cheaper in advance online. There are also savings for family tickets. Dogs go free too so it’s a top dog friendly Cotswold holiday day out!

Lavender Cotswolds

Lavender fields in the Cotswold hills

With the harvest being at its peak in mid-July a trip to the family run Lavender farm high in the Cotswold hills near Broadway is a treat for all of the senses. You can walk along the 70 miles of lavender rows enjoying the many butterflies and looking over the surrounding Cotswold countryside. All before enjoying a cream tea or a light lunch in an old Cotswold stone barn. It’s a perfect choice if you’re heading to us for a romantic weekend in the Cotswold’s. It’s also a great place to pick up a unique range of lavender based gifts or bits for your home. Great memories to bring you back to your few days away in the Cotswolds.

Short Family Breaks

Whilst at the Lake…

There will be no excuses for not trying a spot of wild swimming in July. The lake is warm and after a spot of sun bathing from a paddle board nothing beats cooling off in your private clear water lake. July is a favourite time for honeymoon breaks at the lake. If you’re a newlywed enjoying a few days with us treat yourselves to one of our luxury massage treatments that have made our spa holidays so popular over the last few years. If you’re on a family summer holiday, you may want to take out some bikes for a quiet ride through Cotswold lanes to a local pub. All before returning to enjoy the hot tub or fire pit at the end of each day.
