Hiding in the trees on the lake’s edge, Monty’s Retreat is one of our most private cabins. Perfect for honeymoons and romantic getaways. Both the hot tub and fire pit area frame long sunsets over the lake, offering an opportunity to really connect with whoever you have escaped with. The beach and wrap around deck at the front of the cabin get nearly all day sun, so outdoor time can be enjoyed in all seasons.
This hideaway has an open plan living area with a wood burning stove for a truly romantic atmosphere in colder months. From this open plan space, opening to the dining table and kitchen, you can easily enjoy the stunning outlook of the surrounding nature reserve. The bespoke kitchen includes everything needed for making delicious meals whilst on your log cabin holiday. The house is carefully furnished in a homely English style, with antique pieces and tasteful artwork. The modern bathroom features both powerful shower and bath, complete with luxury towels.
Glass doors open out from the kitchen onto the decked veranda, with steps down to its own jetty and rowing boat. There is no better place to wine and dine during the day or on a summers evening. A traditional Finnish hot tub is set into the deck (optional), outdoor furniture, and an open pit BBQ. In the surrounding grounds of the cabin you will also find a small private beach, fire pit area and swing seat hanging from the trees – to make enjoying quality time outside even more memorable. With so much space around your cabin this is also a great choice for a holiday with your dogs. Plentiful walks in the area make it perfect for your four legged friends.

View All Our Luxury Log Cabins
We are so excited to have installed our first Rocket Bee Hive this week with the help of @_beekindhives_. These beautiful hives emulate cavities in old trees which are the ideal site for wild honey bee colonies.
With all of our 50,000 trees having been planted in the last 50 years this is a vital part of habitat that we are still missing. Supporting wild bees in this way allows them to become stronger and more resilient as they exist in their natural state and perform their vital role of pollination.
There is a fascinating and uplifting 12 minute documentary on YouTube which shows Matt’s tireless mission for wild honey bee conservation made by @maximillian_weston
