BOOKING TERMS

Conditions of Hire – 

Reservations of accommodation are accepted by Log House Holidays, hereinafter referred to as LHH, on the following conditions. The hiring contract is between LHH and the individual from whom payment has been received. Once a confirmation of booking has been received by LHH, the hirer is responsible for the total advertised price of the property and extras as shown on the confirmation of booking.

Initial Payment – 

Bookings will be confirmed upon receipt of initial payment to LHH of a deposit of 50% of the total booking value. If the booking is made within 60 days of the holiday commencement date however, the full booking value will be required on booking.

Balance Payment – 

The balance payment will be due for payment 60 days before the holiday commencement date. LHH reserve the right to cancel a holiday where full payment has not been received three days after the balance due date.

Booking Cancellation –

We strongly recommend that Cancellation Insurance is taken out for your stay. Our recommended insurance provider is Booking Protect. Their insurance can be added on during the booking process.

In all instances, cancellations must be immediately notified to LHH in writing by first class post or by email.

In the event of a cancellation more than 60 days before arrival the deposit payment is forfeited.

In the event of a cancellation within 60 days of arrival the full booking cost is forfeited. Please note if notification of cancellation has not been given by email or in writing to LHH before 60 days of arrival you will be held liable to pay the full cost of the holiday.

Change of Booking Dates – 

If you are looking to move your holiday to an earlier date this will simply incur a £50 admin fee.

If you are looking to move your holiday to a later date we charge a £50 admin fee and can release your booking to be relet. The balance payment must still be made 60 days before the arrival date if the reletting process is to be continued within this period. If the dates are relet we can transfer the amount you have paid to another date of your choice within 12 months of your original arrival date. If the booking is not relet and you have to cancel your holiday you will forfeit all monies paid and be liable for the balance (if still unpaid) if this is within 60 days of the booking arrival date.

Log House Holidays reserves the right to reduce last minute gaps (within 6 weeks) by up to 30% in order to let last minute gaps. Where this has been applied you will only receive the amount that the booking is relet for.

Arrival and Departure Times – 

Unless early arrival has been reserved please can we ask that you do not arrive prior to 3:00 pm (Mayo Landing 4:00pm). Please note guests are asked to vacate the accommodation by 9am (Mayo Landing 10am) on departure day (unless late departure is organised) and we request that the log houses must be left in the same condition as they were found on arrival.

Music & Parties –

Please note that in the interests of wildlife and guests staying in other cabins, please do not play music outside.

LHH is a wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion such as a 25th wedding anniversary or a special birthday. However, please note that all our cabins are situated around a Special Site of Scientific Interest, designated by Natural England on account of the wildlife and flora which flourish here. To preserve this wildlife and in the interests of other resident guests and our neighbours, please do not play music outside of the cabins. Music can of course be played inside the cabins providing the windows and doors are kept closed. We ask guests to appreciate that the sound of shouting also travels very easily across the water. Please note that because of the above, we do not accept bookings from young student groups (25 years and younger without supervision). We have assured Natural England that the number of resident guests on this Special Site will not fluctuate greatly from the maximum number of bed spaces. It is therefore not possible to invite additional guests to your cabin without discussing this with us first and obtaining our permission

We do not allow the use of fireworks on our site.

Party Size – 

In no circumstances may more than the maximum number of guests, as stated on the website, occupy the property, except by prior agreement with the owner. LHH reserve the right to refuse admittance if this condition is not observed. In addition, LHH reserve the right to refuse or revoke any bookings from parties which may be in their opinion (and at their sole discretion) be unsuitable for the property. Up to two additional overnight guests per cabin are allowed and will be charged at £70 per adult (£50 per child). Additional guests staying overnight must be notified in writing to the owner before your arrival in order that this increase in numbers can be registered for insurance purposes. Please note that it is not permissible to invite extra guests to join your group without the express permission of the owner.

Amenities – 
 
The use of accommodation and amenities where offered, such as rowing boats, etc., is entirely at the user’s own risk. No responsibility can be accepted for injury, loss or damage to user’s or visitor’s belongings. However, we do not seek to exclude or limit liability for the negligence of our staff or agents. The use of the amenities offered with the accommodation are solely for the guests staying at the property. Please note that the rowing boat provided can only be used on the lake from dawn to dusk. Life jackets must be worn at all times when on the water. NO motorised craft of any kind to be used on the lake, this also includes fuel powered scaled models.

Motor Car and Personal Belongings – 

Baggage and personal belongings are at the hirer’s risk at all times and no responsibility can be accepted for loss or damage to any car or its contents.

Hirer’s Responsibility –

The hirer is responsible for the property and is expected to take all reasonable care of it. All equipment, utensils, etc., must be left clean and tidy at the end of the hire period.

Damage – 

All damages and breakages are the legal responsibility of the hirer and costs shall be refundable on demand. However, minor damage or breakages will not normally be charged for. Additional cleaning costs may be incurred as a result of pets or other reasons. This may be deducted from the authorised card used for the security deposit.

Breakages and Cleaning Deposit – 

All bookings are made with a security deposit of £1,000. This amount is not taken from your card but authorised by the card owner on the booking form. LHH reserves the right to take this amount without the cardholders permission at any point after damage has been made. LHH also has the right to charge at its discretion any further amount beyond this £1,000 if this figure does not cover damages incurred.

Lost Property – 

Please ensure you take all possessions home with you. A charge of £20 will be made plus postage costs for returning left belongings. Please note that we will hold onto any lost property which is found for a period of 4 weeks. Cost of post and packaging must be received prior to dispatch.

Issues – 

LHH cannot accept liability for happenings outside its reasonable control such as breakdown of domestic appliances, wiring, plumbing, sudden temporary invasion of pests, damage resulting from exceptional weather conditions or owners negligence resulting on loss, injury or accident. LHH is also not responsible in circumstances where guests are unable to get to us due to adverse weather conditions. LHH cannot be held responsible for any mains power loss resulting in failure or action from the National Grid network.

Pets –

Pets are welcome at LHH, at an additional cost of £40/pet/stay. We request that guests do not let animals up on furniture and that any dog hairs etc., must be removed and the house and gardens are left in the original state and condition as you found them.

Fishing Conditions at Log House Holidays – 
 
Log House Holidays contains some fantastic specimen of rudd, roach, tench, perch and pike and it is possible to organise a permit to fish for these species. The lake does also contain some carp BUT these are not to be fished for under any circumstances. Anglers must abide by the following conditions:

In the months of May-September there is a large amount of weed in most places in the lake. We recommend using surface lures where weed becomes a problem.

Once caught, all fish are to be returned immediately to the lake – keep nets or sacks are not allowed.
No fishing is to take place in front of any other cabin other than your own.
Maximum of 2 rods per angler and these must be attended at all times. No fishing at night.
No bite alarms are permitted at this site.
No vegetation to be cut or altered.
No boilies, peanuts, tiger nuts or pellet baits are permitted. Maggots and corn are recommended.
No live-bait fishing for the pike.
All Landing nets are to be air dried before bringing to the lake to prevent the potential spread of disease.
Brolly systems or similar only – No large bivvies’ allowed.
No bait boats allowed.

Log House Holidays respects your privacy and will not sell or make available in any way your personal information except where specific permission has been given. By booking a holiday with us or by signing up to our Special Offers email list, you are agreeing that we may contact you appropriately. We endeavour to take all reasonable steps to protect your personal data but cannot guarantee the security of any data you disclose online. You accept the inherent security implications of dealing online and will not hold us responsible for any breach of security. Our site may link to other websites and we are not responsible for their data policies or procedures or their content.
