Born out of a love of cycling and the great outdoors, Cotswold eBikes was started in 2019 to provide quality electric bike rental and tours of the Cotswolds. Based at Abbey Home Organic Farm, two miles outside of Cirencester and only 15 minutes from Log House Holidays, they are in easy reach of Bibury and its surrounding villages to the east and the Stroud Valleys to the west. You can chose to either meet at the farm or even have the bikes delivered straight to your log cabin holiday.
Their new 2019 Scott electric bikes have a Bosch Active Plus motor and a 500w battery, making them perfect for zipping through the undulating country lanes of the Cotswolds quietly and comfortably. The bikes also come with a choice of 4 power modes so you can decide how much (or little) effort you need to put in to get up those hills, perfect for levelling out a mixed group of riders!
To help people that may not know the area too well, they’ve put together a few routes that take in the best views, villages and lanes, whilst avoiding the main roads and traffic. From a flat 15k loop to a challenging 50k there is something for all abilities. These routes are loaded on to Garmin cycle computers too which help you navigate the countryside with turn by turn directions without needing to stop and get out a map (these can be supplied though if you’d prefer to be old school!). Bespoke routes to places of interest to you can also be put together. Finally, for those after a longer one way trip shuttles can also be arranged.
Here in the Cotswolds we are spoilt for choice when it comes to cafes and country pubs. Discover recommendations on the pre-planned routes or pop your own picnic in your pannier (they are able to provide a delicious homemade organic packed lunch) – there’s always plenty of spots to stop along the way and take in the views.
