Victorian Late Night Christmas Shopping

When: Friday 4 December 2015
Where: Bourton on the Water (30 minutes drive)

This annual Christmas late night shopping event is a really fun outing for a family holiday. We always recommend seeing this beautiful Cotswold village on any holiday in the Cotswolds, but for this special night it’s even more worth it! Shops are open till 9pm and there will be plenty of things to entertain from a good old fairground ride and Father Christmas to delicious food stands and local choirs singing. Don’t miss the lighting of the Christmas Tree at 6:30 pm. Sitting in the middle of the river with the reflections of thousands of lights on the gentle river, it is an amazing site to behold.

Westonbirt Enchanted Christmas 2015

When: Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening from 27 November to 20 December.
Where: Westonbirt Arboretum (25 minutes drive)

Kids will really love this lit up 1 mile trail through the world famous Westonbirt Arboretum. The incredible trees can be enjoyed in a whole new light and there are plenty of things for everyone to enjoy and get involved in along the walk. There are also free craft activities and the real Father Christmas and elves present who have little gifts for all your little ones. Carousel rides and Christmas stands are also there to enjoy. The list of foods to enjoy is enough to make the trip too: hog roast, gourmet burgers, hot dogs, chips, jacket potatoes and baguettes, a warming hot chocolate with whipped cream (or Baileys!), delicious mulled wine. Even roasted chestnuts, toffee apples, toasted marshmallows and traditional sweets to take along the walk with you! Different choirs and bands add to the festive atmosphere at this very unique evening.

The trail opens at 5pm each night and the last entry to the car park is at 7pm. The last entry to the trail is at 7.30pm. The trail is pushchair friendly too. Pre-booking is advised on Saturday evenings.
