Book A Late Summer Holiday
Stay at our lake in September and enjoy the last few days of great summer weather and the most spectacular sunrises and sunsets. If we’re lucky here, late September heat can still feel like the height of summer in the Cotswolds, without the busy summer crowds. But crowds or not in the local area, our nature reserve is always a tranquil place at any time of year. We carefully balance conservation with luxury and seclusion at our family run 130 acre estate and we offer just 8 authentic cabins, all thoughtfully hidden away from one another and each with their own lake view and private beach. Making us the perfect venue for honeymoon breaks, family holidays or a girls retreat.
Enjoy Foraging In The Woods
Whether you want to go foraging in the woods or you just want to enjoy a lazy day on the lake, the options are endless in September. The lake still has much of the summer heat so you can take a running jump from your private pier for a warm swim before lunch, go fishingfrom your own rowing boat (there are some great catches in September), explore the lake’s secret islands and coves by paddle board or kayak, go foraging for blackberries so you can make a delicious crumble for dinner, or just wind down in your own personal lakeside hot tub. Enjoy the simple life as you unwind on your UK eco holiday. And of course, watching the sunset is just magical at this time of year. If you get a cold clear night, make sure you wake up early to witness the morning mists as the lakes slowly loses its summer heat.
Things To Do In The Cotswolds In September
Foodies will love September on our lake. The Cotswolds offers an abundance in locally grown produce. So head to the local farm shops and food markets to pick up the freshest ingredients for a delicious BBQ on your decking or to cook up a tasty dinner at night. We also recommend the Blenheim Horse Trials, one of the best days out in September in the Cotswolds! Set in spectacular surroundings at Blenheim Palace, home of Winston Churchill, this three day event is well worth going to. Check out our Cotswold Travel Guide for more ideas for your September short break.
