Arriving down a private gravel drive to views over a large expanse of water, Moondara is a perfect cabin to escape to with a large family or group of friends. A covered veranda wraps around the house on two sides, with a large private beach leading to a picturesque footbridge. Across here sits your own fire pit island with a rowing boat moored alongside. Capturing the sunset perfectly, this is a magical spot to end each day. Push out from the beach on a kayak or paddleboard to explore the lake or enjoy a peaceful afternoon fishing. The Finnish hot tub (optional), sunken into the decking, looks out over the lake and is always a highlight of guests’ special time here.
Inside, a useful boot room leads you into an open plan living area, centred around a beautiful maple tree sculpture and cosy woodburner. The large round dining table enjoys panoramic views across the 100 acre lake and is a perfect place to gather in the evenings. A spacious fully equipped kitchen has everything needed to cook up delicious family feasts whilst on your log cabin holiday.
The hand-crafted wooden staircase opens onto a spectacular picture window, boasting more views across the lake. Moondara has three large bathrooms with powerful showers, roll top baths and under floor heating. These include a downstairs bathroom and wet room with disabled access, whilst the master bedroom has its own en-suite for complete privacy. In addition, the master bedroom has its own lakeside balcony overlooking the sandy fire pit island.

We’ve stayed in some beautiful places over the years, but Keno Lodge is, without question, the most magical place we have ever stayed. From the moment we arrived, we felt ourselves completely exhale. For a few days, the outside world simply disappeared. We laughed, swam, paddleboarded, sat around the fire, watched the sunsets and the stars, and made memories that I know our family will talk about for years to come. It felt less like a holiday and more like a gift.

We are so excited to have installed our first Rocket Bee Hive this week with the help of @_beekindhives_. These beautiful hives emulate cavities in old trees which are the ideal site for wild honey bee colonies.
With all of our 50,000 trees having been planted in the last 50 years this is a vital part of habitat that we are still missing. Supporting wild bees in this way allows them to become stronger and more resilient as they exist in their natural state and perform their vital role of pollination.
