Did you know paddle boarding is the fastest growing sport in England right now?
Earlier this summer we thought we would give SUP (the lingo for stand up paddle-boarding) a try down at the lake to see what all of the fuss was about. Instantly we were hooked. We’ve found a unique way to explore the lake. With a feeling almost like you’re walking on water it’s a whole new experience from the rowing boat and kayaks. So we decided to get some ourselves so you could enjoy a paddle-boarding holiday on your next visit.
When the lake is still and the sun is setting nothing beats gently paddling along, surrounded by nature. Will you be the first person to see the otter from a paddle board here? Spending time on the lake this way is an amazing way to watch a sunset whilst on a romantic break away.
Come the summer months they will be perfect for lounging around on. We bought large Red Paddle boards, which are suitable for everyone – from the first time paddlers to people who are keen to work on some new skills. Perfect for everyone on your family holiday. So stable in fact we’ll be using them all year round – hoping to not fall off once the water gets a little colder though. If you’re feeling adventurous take one out this autumn or winter. As the lake has been losing heat over the last few weeks there have been some incredibly misty mornings over the water and this has been an amazing environment to paddle in.
If you want to get some tuition too whilst in the Cotswold Water Park, the Paddle Board Lake is only 5 minutes away. Here you can take part in organised sessions or arrange one to one lessons. Their contact details are below for you to get in touch…
