NATURE HOLIDAYS IN SPRING
This is our favourite time of year. Spring sees the bloom of the unique trees and wild flowers that we have planted over the last 4 decades. At this time of year the greenery is fresh and vibrant and there is hope in the air as the days begin to lengthen. From banks of primroses and wild daises to pockets of cowslips and orchids. It’s a fabulous time for a romantic short break and there are lots of great things to do in the Cotswolds too; enjoy the lakeside trails as you explore your private 130 acre getaway, go for a lakeside run or unwind in your private hot tub overlooking the water. The spring fed lake is incredibly clear now and it’s a great time to get out in the boat for an adventure or a spot of fishing on holiday. Whether you’re looking to catch pike, roach, tench or perch there are some excellent catches for everyone.
THE PERFECT FITNESS HOLIDAY
Spring is also a great time to enjoy a fitness weekend at the lake. Our 2 mile track is a perfect circuit to work with plus there are loads of great cycling and running routes throughout the surrounding Cotswold Water Park. If you are looking for a pet friendly holiday there are lots of areas to explore with your four legged friends on and off lead. Why not go paddle boarding as a great alternative core work out. We can easily arrange for some to be waiting at your cabin on arrival. To top it all off, the thought of a well-deserved hot tub at the end of each fitness session will provide you with the ultimate inspiration.
BIRDWATCHING HOLIDAYS BY THE LAKE
Our lakeside log houses are ideal for a birdwatching holiday too. The surrounding Cotswold Water Park see’s over 200 species of bird throughout the year and is slowly becoming a renowned place to enjoy nature holidays. The refreshing mornings are a great time to be out spotting the nesting birds that live on the lake and sometimes, you can even hear a chorus of special birds such as nightingales or cuckoos. With nature in full motion at this time of year, it’s a fantastic time to take a photography lesson and capture those great moments. If you’re lucky, you may enjoy a hot spell and it can almost feel like the summer sitting down by the water in your swing chair. And not to be missed – an early morning hot tub is the best time to spot our resident otter family playing in the lake – a sunrise over the lake always makes an early start well worth it.
