A new photography course to enjoy on holiday…
Did you know we now offer landscape photography courses? We’ve recently teamed up with the passionate and very talented David Hall to create a perfect spot for photography holidays in the Cotswolds. A local to the Cotswold Water Park, David really knows the area’s best spots for both landscape shots and nature encounters. This hands-on experience has a focus on practical skills and techniques that should help you capture some special photos both whilst with David and from there onwards! The session can be focussed according to whatever level so don’t worry if you’re just starting out. The course can also be shared by up to three people if you want to divide the cost. We think it would make a fantastic gift for someone who likes trying out new things or for a partner who already has a passion for photography.
What to pack for your Photography Course…
All you need to bring is your camera and a tripod if you have one. A warm jumper if you are going to be sitting still whilst waiting for the perfect moment or a raincoat if the weather looks broken (sadly it does occasionally rain in the Cotswolds! – timings can be fairly flexible though to suit both your holiday itinerary and the weather). Our nature reserve changes so much throughout the seasons and is spectacular for both winter holidays and summer holidays.
Capture both the photogenic Cotswolds and your secluded log cabin holiday…
Both the lake itself (an SSSI for its unique flora and fauna) and the surrounding Cotswolds (an AONB) are great spots to get out and capture unique views and moments. Changing constantly across seasons to you might have to come more than once! Your private 100-acre lake is the perfect spot to explore with a camera – enjoying the unspoilt surroundings. Nothing beats unwinding in your lakeside hot tub, taking out the rowing boat and capturing some fantastic photos. Check out our photo galleries which include separate seasonal sections. Some of our favourite photographic highlights to look out for whilst on your lakeside retreat include the resident otter family, nesting terns, king fishers, mating great-crested grebe, autumn tree reflections, spring wild flowers, misty mornings and the very occasional bittern. Not to mention the romantic sunsets and moon rises over the lake. In addition, have a look at our Cotswold Holiday Guide to see some of the local highlights and top things to do through the year.
Add a session when you book online or arrange one whilst here. A two-hour course costs £90 and you can add additional time at £25 per hour. David will get in touch to arrange a time to suit. Check out his website in the meantime…David Hall’s Photography
